Job Description:

Skilled precision grinding supervisor/ engineer fabricating and finishing a wide variety of precision steel components ranging from intricate and complex small to large-scale parts. Requires aptitude to manufacture to print/ product conformity exact specifications and standards as intended. Must have a strong diversified manufacturing background in precision grinding processing and measurement accuracies, employing different grinding tools and techniques to achieve the desired size, shape, and surface texture with tight tolerances.

 

Precision Grinding Application Knowledge:

  • Through feed (centerless)
  • End Feed/ Infeed
  • Between centers O.D (CNC and manual)
  • I.D/ O.D
  • Blanchard

 

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in precision production grinding (as noted above)
  • Have an extended knowledge of grinding machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Determine which technique or techniques to use in the finishing of a part based on the specifications of customer
  • Provide abrasives technical assistance in a variety of grinding wheel metalworking applications
  • Determining grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding process to be used
  • Determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground per blue prints and router instructions
  • Must be able to train in setup and use of micrometers, dial bore gages, snap gages, profilometers, sin bars, etc.
