Screw Machinist

• Set up and operate Acme Multi-Spindle Screw Machines
• Optimize processes for family of parts
• Ensure machines are properly maintained. Know when and why machine is not at peak performance, how to increase performance and fix errors.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
• Operate to workmanship standards, working from prints.
• Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
• Inspect first pieces, using predetermined gaging instruments.
• Prior screw machine set up and operating experience (Acme Gridley a Plus)
• Proven problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments.
• Understands tooling application and shown competence in, changing and adjusting tools.
• Strong understanding in blueprint reading and parts inspection capabilities.
